1975 yılı doğumlu Defne Erkara, 1998 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi'nden bölüm ikincisi olarak mezun oldu. İhtisasını 1998-2004 yılları arasında İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi Plastik ve Rekonstrüktif Cerrahi Anabilim ve El Cerrahisi Bilim Dalı'nda tamamladı. Mikrocerrahi konusunda eğitmenlik yaptı. Transderm Güzellik Merkezi, Yaşasın Hayat Kliniği, Medical Park Hastanesi, Bahçelievler Yaşam Hastanesi gibi bir çok kurumda çalışmaları oldu.
