Prof. Dr. Alaettin Çelik

Prof. Alaettin Çelik, M.D., is a highly experienced pediatric surgeon at Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital, where he has practiced since 2016. With a career spanning more than four decades, he is regarded as one of the senior figures in pediatric surgery in Turkey and brings a depth of clinical and academic experience to the care of infants and children.

Prof. Çelik completed his medical education at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1972. He went on to play a foundational role in the field, serving as the founding head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1982 and later leading its Department of Surgical Medical Sciences. He continued his academic work within the Department of Pediatric Surgery before joining Istanbul Florence Nightingale Hospital.

His clinical practice is dedicated to pediatric surgery, encompassing the surgical care of newborns, infants, and children across a wide range of congenital and acquired conditions.

Prof. Çelik is also the author of several reference works in his specialty, including textbooks on newborn surgery and pediatric surgery, reflecting his long-standing commitment to medical education and the training of future surgeons.
