1962 senesinde Aksaray'da dünyaya gelen Profesör Doktor Meltem Önder, ortaögrenimini İstanbul Kadiköy kiz lisesinde tamamladıktan sonra 1986 senesinde Gazi Tıp Fakültesi'nden mezun oldu ve "tıp doktoru" ünvanını aldı. Aynı yıl Dermatoloji bölümünde uzmanlık eğitimine başladı. 1991 senesine gelindiğinde uzman,1996 senesinde Doçent, 2003 senesinde de Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinden profesör ünvanını alarak tıp yaşamına profesör doktor ünvanı ile devam etmeye başladı.
