Kasım ayının 2000 senesinde Genel Cerrahi Doçenti, Mart 2006 senesinde de profesörlük ünvanını aldı. 1998 yılında ise Royal Liverpool University Hospital Colorectal Unit'degörev yaptı. Bu merkezde Dr. MJ Hershman ile kolorektal cerrahi ve pelvik taban cerrahisi ile ilgili ameliyatlarda yer aldı. Ayrıca burada anal USG ve anorektal fizyoloji laboratuarında eğitimler almıştır. 2007 yılından bu güne kadar Türk Kolon ve Rektum Cerrahisi Derneği'nin resmi yayın organı olan Kolon ve Rektum Cerrahisi Dergisi'nin editörlüğük görevini yürütmektedir.
