İstanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi'nde genel cerrahi ve plastik cerrahi kliniklerinde ihtisaslarını tamamladı. 1980 yılında Genel Cerrah ünvanını aldı. 1983 yılında Plastik Cerrah ünvanını edindi. Vakıf Gureba Hastahanesi’ nde 1983-1988 yılları sürecinde zorunlu hizmetini yaptı. 1989 yılında Plastik Cerrahi Doçenti, 1995 yılında Plastik Cerrahi Profesörlüğü ünvanını kazandı.
