1972 yılında Tıp Fakültesi okumak için geldiği Ankara Üniversitesinden mezun oldu, 1976 yılında ise uzmanlık eğitimini aldığı Hacettepe Üniversitesinden mezun oldu. 1977 yılında Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji Anabilim dalına atandı. 1983 yılında Doçent, 1988 yılında ise Profesör ünvanlarını aldı.
