İstanbul Tıp Fakültesinden mezun oldu. Tıp diplomasını aldıktan hemen sonra iki yıl süre ile Ege ve Akdeniz bölgelerinin sınır bölgesi olan Muğla ili Dalaman ilçesinde mecburi hizmetini yaptı. Haydarpaşa Numune Hastanesindeki 4 yıllık asistanlık döneminden sonra Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Uzmanı oldu. Daha sonra 9 yıl süre ile çalışacağı Bursa Çocuk Hastanesinde göreve başladı. 2000 yılında kamu görevinden istifa edip tamamen serbest çalışmaya başladı.
